ROMEOVILLE - State Rep. John Connor, D-Lockport, will host a Senior Celebration resource fair at the Romeoville Recreation Center.

"My predecessor, former state Rep. Emily McAsey, hosted this annual event to provide access to important resources for members of our senior community," Connor said in press release. "When I took office, I knew this was a community tradition that I wanted to continue."

The senior fair will feature various local state and local organizations involved in senior services. Attendees can learn about consumer protection tips, participate in free health screenings and more.

There will be free refreshments and entertainment and an awards ceremony honoring older adults who have made significant contributions to improve the community, according to the press release.

"I look forward to meeting with residents at this event and hearing about their thoughts and concerns about what is going on in Springfield," Connor said in the release. "I have made an effort to prioritize issues that affect seniors, and this event is an opportunity to further engage our community."

The Romeoville Recreation Center is located at 900 West Romeo Road in Romeoville. For more information you can contact Connor's constituent service office at 815-372-0085.
