Silver Cross wins seven health care marketing awards

The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations honored marketing, public relations and communications professionals from across the state at its annual conference and Pinnacle Awards presentation on Nov. 2 and 3 in Chicago.

Silver Cross received seven Pinnacle Awards, including an Award of Excellence for the Silver Cross Senior Fair.

The annual event provides local seniors with free health screenings, flu and pneumonia immunizations, as well as a free informational presentation on Medicare. Each year, the event is attended by more than 200 local residents. 

Each year, ISHMPR sponsors the Pinnacle Awards to recognize excellence and achievement in health care marketing and public relations. This year’s program included more than 100 entries in 30 project categories.

The Silver Cross Marketing Team and Community Relations is led by Tracy Simons of New Lenox, executive director of the Silver Cross Foundation; Karen Helman of Orland Park, manager of marketing and community relations; Suzanne Bies of Homer Glen, marketing coordinator; Ben Hernandez of Mokena, e-marketing coordinator; Leslie Newbon of Crest Hill resident, senior community outreach coordinator; Neecie Jensen of New Lenox, senior advantage and community programs coordinator; and Shaun Zinck of Morris, digital media coordinator. The team received seven awards:
