Area roundup: Minooka wrestlers get SPC win over Joliet West

MINOOKA – Minooka’s wrestling team continued its winning ways by capturing a 56-10 Southwest Prairie Conference home win over Joliet West.

The Indians received pins from Eli Mondrella (145 pounds), Drew Gutknecht (195), Connor Briley (220) and Jack McClimon (113), a win by technical fall from Nathan Berta (106), decisions from Austin Markee (120), Cody Hoshell (132) and Derek Wentworth (285) and forfeit wins from Zach McDowell (126), Adam McDowell (138) and Danny Debow (160).

The Tigers got a major decision from Jonathan Pullen (170) and decisions from Jeremy Pullen (152) and Jake Aharrah (182).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lincoln-Way Central 57, Thornridge 16: The Knights (9-8, 3-2) were led by Abi Baumgartner (18 points,
11 rebounds) and Lindsey Harvey (11 points).

Lincoln-Way West 65, Andrew 49: Taylor Gugliuzza (18 points) and Tara Hastings (17 points) led the Warriors (19-3, 4-1).

GIRLS BOWLING

Lockport 1,782, Lincoln-Way Central 1,509: Leading the Porters were Talia Roti (398) and Erin Kleffman (380) while the Knights were led by Lauren Davern (383).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Momence 103, Reed-Custer 77: Gavin Grace (18 points), Russell Page (16 points, seven rebounds) and Dylan Hutchison (11 points) led the Comets.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Triton 64, Joliet 59 (OT): The Wolves (14-5, 0-3) were led by Kianna Campbell (24 points, six rebounds) and Amber Watson (nine points).
