JOLIET — Joliet Catholic Academy officials had to cancel classes Friday morning due to a water main break.

School officials announced the decision in a tweet just before 6:40 a.m. Friday and said classes would resume again Tuesday.

A water main along the parkway of Ingalls Avenue just outside the school broke, Ryan Quigley,

Director of Admissions and Communications said. Classes were canceled due to the water inside the building needing to be shut off throughout the day.

The Joliet Water Department and Len Cox and Sons Excavating worked to repair the pipe Friday, and Friday night's boys basketball game against Kennedy High School would still occur as scheduled at the Joliet campus.
