Center for Disability Services in Joliet to host Great Chef’s Tasting on March 4

JOLIET – In the theme of the 1970s TV game shows, “C’mon down” March 4, 2018 to the elegant Bolingbrook Golf Club as CDS hosts its 23rd Annual Great Chef’s Tasting Party and Auction to benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities.

This years’ Presenting Sponsors are ExxonMobil and Kozol Bro. Inc.

CDS will kick off this groovy event at 4:30 p.m.

Guests can sample over tasty food creations by more than 20 of the best southwest Chicagoland chefs, restauranteurs and caterers.

Stick around for some “far out” entertainment by the ladies of WJOL, Lynne, Mary and Natalie. The ladies and emcee Larry Burich will surely help you “get down and boogie” and bring you back to the ‘70s with a few surprises that’ll take you back to days of bell-bottoms, lava lamps and those crazy “Game Shows of the 70s”.

There will be a live and silent auction, raffle, Golden Ticket, Wine Grab and of course an opportunity to “C’mon down” to win some really “fly” stuff.

The Center for Disability Services, founded in 1955,is dedicated to advancing the independence of people with disabilities. It operates from the former Reedswood Elementary School in Joliet and has four independent living homes located in Joliet, Shorewood and Wilmington.

Over the years, CDS’ programs and services have expanded to serve individuals with severe, multiple disabilities including intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, autism and other developmental disabilities. CDS provides its services in a seven-county area including Will, Kankakee, Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle, Ford, and Iroquois.

The following programs are offered: The Melvin J. Larson Education Center, Family Support Program, Respite Care Program, and Adult Services which includes developmental training and residential services.
