PLAINFIELD –A 65-year-old Plainfield man was cited by police after he allegedly shined a laser pointer at another man who was using a snowblower on his sidewalk, police said.

On Friday evening, a 36-year-old man was outside clearing his sidewalk in front of his home in the 2300 block of Mystic Drive when he saw the red dot from a laser pointer on the center of his body and then on his legs, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.

The man reportedly saw that the laser was projecting from the window of his neighbor, 65-year-old Paul G. Kellerman. Gregory said police responded to the incident, met with Kellerman and cited him for breaching the peace by alarming his neighbor.

Kellerman was cited for disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to appear in court April 17 to answer the charge.

In 2008, Kellerman was found guilty of disorderly conduct and fined $230. He violated a Joliet city ordinance, according to court records.
