JOLIET – By law, the Will County Clerk’s Office is required to examine its electronic voting technology.

The clerk’s office sent out a press release inviting the public and the press out to the Will County Office Building at 9 a.m. Wednesday to view the testing of the equipment.

The testing will take place in the County Board Room. Specifically, Will County Clerk staff will be testing the in-precinct tabulation optical scan technology equipment. Section 24B-9 of the Illinois Election Code requires the testing.

Representatives from both the Republican and Democratic parties will be present and able to review the test tabulations and make sure the equipment is correctly reporting results.

The Will County Office Building is located at 302 N. Chicago St. in Joliet.

The primary election is March 20. Many early voting sites in various Will County communities begin Monday.
