JOLIET – The man who calls himself “Mr. Landlord” is coming to the annual Joliet Landlord Conference in April.
Jeffrey Taylor, author, property management consultant and founder of the mrlandlord.com website, is the keynote speaker at both sessions April 9 and 10. The free conference is sponsored by local real estate groups and the city of Joliet. The conference will at the Jacob Henry Mansion Victorian Ballroom, 15 S. Richards St.
Initially created to share information about city building codes, the conference has evolved to also provide professional information for landlords.
The same conference is held on two days to give landlords the option of a daytime or evening session. The conference starts at 6 p.m. April 9 and at 9 a.m. April 10. Some landlords plan to come on both days to hear Taylor speak twice,” said Jeff Sterr, director of neighborhood services for Joliet.
The city is one sponsor of the conference. Others are the Joliet Regional Landlord Association, Three Rivers Association of Realtors and Future Vision Property.
The Three Rivers Association of Realtors is paying for Taylor’s appearance.
The conference also provides information on the city’s rental inspection program, energy conservation and other topics pertinent to the rental business. People are asked to register at cityofjoliet.info/landlord. For information, call 815-724-4090 or email Sterr at firstname.lastname@example.org.
