Police: Joliet man arrested for obnoxious music, yelling, knocking

JOLIET – A Joliet man was arrested after repeatedly blasting his loud music and knocking on the door of a fellow tenant at a near west side apartment complex, police said.

On two occasions Monday night, police officers were called to an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Center Street after receiving a complaint of loud music allegedly coming from the home of Kevin Leroy, 47, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.

The first call shortly before 10:30 p.m., involved a female tenant claiming that Leroy was continually yelling, playing loud music and knocking on her door, Gregory said. The officers met with Leroy, who reportedly appeared intoxicated, he said, and they were able to convince him turn the music down.

However, about 45 minutes later, the officers were once again called out to the apartment complex. This time, the female tenant claimed that Leroy continued to play loud music and that he was yelling and continually knock on her windows and door, Gregory said.

After the second call, the officers arrested Leroy on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Leroy was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on April 3.
