On April 17, the Morris Lions Club presented a $5,000 check to the Morris Hospital for its diabetes program.

This donation continues the project started in 2017 as part of the Centennial Legacy Project.

This funding enables Morris Hospital to help diabetics, especially those newly diagnosed, by providing free glucose testing strips and A1C tests for those who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

Morris Hospital is also using the funds to provide pamphlets on gestational diabetes to new mothers.

The Morris Lions Club is a volunteer organization dedicated to leadership development through community service, and is part of a world-wide service organization.

Community members wishing to join or learn about Morris Lions Club are encouraged to attend meetings, held the first and third Thursdays at the Eagles’ Hall in Morris from September to May.
