Two men were arrested after refusing to leave El Rodeo bar and resisting officers who came to arrest them, police said.

About 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Miguel Cabrales, 32, of 5200 block of South Homan Avenue in Chicago and Manuel D. Hernandez, 26, of the 400 block of Street in Joliet were arrested on charges of criminal trespass to El Rodeo bar, 816 E. Jackson St. Cabrales also was charged with resisting a police officer.

Officers responded to a report of four people refusing to leave. Cabrales was one of the four and when officers told him he was under arrest, he began to walk away, Joliet Police Deputy Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.

Gregory said the officers arrested Cabrales, but he struggled until he was brought under control and handcuffed. When Hernandez saw Cabrales was being arrested, he allegedly interfered and tried to push past an arresting officer, Gregory said. He was arrested as well.

Both men were released on their own recognizance.
