National Night Out in Will County scheduled for Aug. 7

The 35th annual National Night Out is scheduled for Aug. 7 for several police departments in Will County and all around the country.

The purpose of the event is for local police departments to engage with the communities they serve with fun, family-friendly activities.

Several communities in Will County, including Joliet, Plainfield and others, typically host their own event.

Shorewood residents will be able to enjoy the event at the police department, located at 903 West Jefferson St. The department will have several activities culminating in a showing of “Cars 3” on the lawn.

Channahon’s event witll be on July 25 and will be at the police department, located at 24555 South Navajo Drive. The event will feature a live band, a moon jump, raffles, drunk goggle driving, an inflatable climbing wall, food, refreshments and more from 6 to 9 p.m.

Wilmington’s National Night Out will be at Wilmington High School, located at 209 Wildcat Court from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
