Lincoln-Way East cruises to win in conference opener

Lincoln-Way East overwhelmed Andrew in its SouthWest Suburban Conference opener on Friday night, downing the T-Bolts, 42-0.

Devon Williams scored three touchdowns to pace the Griffins (3-0, 1-0) offense, while Jack Baltz threw a pair of touchdown passes to Jackson Ritter.

Bolingbrook 54, Sandburg 0

The Raiders got a touchdown on the opening kickoff from Anthony King and they never slowed down after that rolling to an easy SouthWest Suburban victory.

Bolingbrook (3-0, 1-0) will square off with rival Homewood-Flossmoor next week.

Oswego East 41, Romeoville 0

The Spartans hung in for a little while but were eventually overwhelmed in a Southwest Prairie matchup.

Thornton 20, Lockport 16

The Porters inability to turn scoring opportunities into touchdowns hurt in a SouthWest Suburban Conference loss.

Lockport (0-3, 0-1) moved the ball inside the Thornton 20-yard line on three different occasions, but had to settle for Ryan Barth field goals, of which he made three.

The Porters lone touchdown came from a 27-yard touchdown run from Austin Hubert in the second quarter. Hubert finished with 111 yards on 20 carries.

Coal City 28, Herscher 7

Payton Hutchings threw for three touchdown passes as the Coalers picked up an important Interstate Eight Conference win.

Max Arias also added a rushing touchdown to the cause for Coal City (2-1, 1-0)

Peotone 34, Reed-Custer 13

Ryan Brewer scored two touchdowns while Logan Heflin and Nathan Battiato added scores of their own as the Blue Devils (2-1, 1-0) dominated the Comets (1-2, 0-1) in an Interstate Eight win.

Lemont 41, T.F. North 7

The Indians found their way into the win column with a diversified offensive attack.

Lemont (1-2, 1-0 South Suburban) got a 103-yard effort on the ground from Paul Andreotti, while Josh Pack and Anthony Sambucci both caught touchdown passes.

Lisle 27, Wilmington 6

Lisle got the better of Wilmington for the first time in 23 years with the Interstate Eight Small victory.

Conner Dempsay scored the lone Wilmington (1-2, 0-1) touchdown on a 10-yard reception from Keaton Hopwood.

Seneca 22, Dwight 15

The Fighting Irish (2-1, 1-0) got two touchdowns from Brady Baudino and another from Logan Bruss to collect a narrow Sangamon Valley Conference win from the Trojans (1-2, 0-1).
