A man reportedly was shot multiple times at close range Sunday morning near a Joliet bar.
Joliet police responded about 2:40 a.m. Sunday to the 1000 block of North Hickory Street, Joliet police Sgt. Darrell Gavin said. The victim first was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he was stabilized before being taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
The individual had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Gavin said. Witnesses on the scene told police the victim was in a parking lot “when he was jumped and subsequently shot multiple times from close range.” Police found shell casings in the area where witnesses reported the individual had been shot, Gavin said. The shooting remained under investigation Tuesday.
