To the Editor:
I see Mr. Malmgren thinks we need a wall. I can’t understand how anyone would think that something that can be defeated with a ladder, rope or shovel is worth $5 billion to $8 billion. I have it on good authority that all three items can be purchased in Mexico rather cheaply, so what is the point?
This seems like another problem that some think can be solved by throwing money at it, a practice that seems to have come into favor in the last decade or so. I think, Ray, if you do your homework, you will find that the vast majority of illegals don’t come into our country by walking across our southern border, only the ones that the media want you to see. That’s what sells papers.
If you want to spend billions on border security, there are much better ways than giving into the wishes of the spoiled little boy in the White House.
