A 78-year-old woman was killed when her car collided with another car in Will Township, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
At 9:34 p.m. Thursday, Darlene C. Wallace was pronounced dead on Indiana Avenue in Will Township.
Wallace was the driver of a 2000 Chrysler Concorde that struck a 2012 Chrysler 200 driven by a 33-year-old man, according to the coroner and sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
Preliminary results of an autopsy conducted Friday revealed Wallace died from multiple injuries she suffered in the collision. She was not wearing a seat belt, sheriff’s spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.
The other driver was flown to a nearby hospital, she said.
He suffered internal injuries and a shattered leg from the crash.
