A Joliet man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault of a police officer.
About 10:40 p.m. Thursday, Douglas A. Goodson, 53, of the 300 block of East Washington Street was arrested at 3000 W. Jefferson St., according to Joliet police arrest records. The location is at the Joliet Park District’s Inwood Complex.
Goodson initially was arrested on probable cause for aggravated assault and obstructing justice.
He later was charged in court with two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, according to court records.
Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum would not provide information on Goodson’s arrest Friday.
Goodson was taken to the Will County jail at 12:03 a.m. Friday. He was scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. that day for a hearing on his bond at the Will County Courthouse.
On July 28, 2016, Goodson pleaded guilty to grabbing a woman’s body and falsely reporting to Channahon police that she had her purse stolen, according to court records.
A charge alleging Goodson had choked that woman was dropped.
A Will County judge sentenced him to 30 months of probation. Goodson was credited for serving 121 days in jail.
Goodson’s probation was terminated Jan. 25.
