A Target distribution center in Joliet is hiring and plans to create about 200 jobs over the next year, the company said in a news release.
Operations at the facility, located at 3300 Channahon Road, northeast of Rock Run Rookery, will begin in early November, according to the release.
“We’re currently hiring and look forward to bringing new jobs to the Joliet community,” said Matt Jefferies, Target’s senior director of distribution, who will oversee the facility. “Target has a strong commitment to local communities, and we look forward to providing our Joliet team with the chance to build meaningful skills and careers.”
The Joliet distribution center will send supplies like fixtures, shelving and in-store marketing materials to Target stores nationwide, according to the release.
“In addition to market-competitive wages, Target also offers various education benefits, such as tuition and GED reimbursement, to support team members’ continuous learning as they build skills for a lifetime,” the release said. “This investment in the team will allow Target to continue to recruit and retain strong team members and provide an elevated experience for its guests and in the communities it serves.”
Target is hiring warehouse workers, operations managers and clerical staff to work at the center.
Interested candidates can apply online at target.com/careers.
Distribution leaders will be conducting the interviews with applicants.
About 800 Target employees work at nearby locations, according to the release.
