On Dec. 3, Troy Hambly used a cloth dummy to show students in Laura Niznik's social studies class how ancient Egyptians mummified their dead.

Hambly, a licensed funeral director and thanatogeneticist – an expert in modern mummification – shows students the mummification process.

He shared how Egyptians removed the internal organs, what they used to mummify the body and what kinds of spiritual things they did to ensure the dead had a fruitful afterlife.
