Lockport led area teams at the Class 3A Quincy Sectional with four state qualifiers, including two champions on Saturday.
The Porters day was highlighted by wins from Kaleb Thompson at 113 pounds and Mike Kaminski at 126.
Thompson won in his final with an 18-3 technical fall win over Noah Tapia of Moline in the final, while Kaminski collected a 9-5 decision over Nick Minnito of Plainfield Central.
Lockport's other qualifiers were Keegan Roberson who finished third at 132, while Andrew Blackburn-Forst advanced with a third place finish at 195.
Plainfield South also had a champion as James Pierandozzi won by technical fall over Jack McClimon in the 152 final. The Cougars other qualifier was John Pacewic who took second at 195.
Joliet Central's lone state qualifier, Jayden Perez, was also a sectional champion. Perez won the 182 final by injury default.
Providence's three qualifiers were Billy Meiszner (2nd at 106), Kevin Countryman (3rd at 145) and Ryan Boersma (3rd at 285).
Plainfield North's trio of qualifiers were Jacob Macatangay (3rd at 113), Jared Gumila (3rd at 138) and Evan Smith (2nd at 170).
Plainfield East also had three qualifiers led by two runner-up efforts from Alex Villar (132) and Barry Stevenson (145) and a fourth place finish from Zach Barlev (285).
Joining Minnito as a Plainfield Central qualifier was Joey Ahern, who finished 3rd at 152.
McClimon, Drew Gutknecht (3rd at 220) and Jake Mensik (4th in 145) make up Minooka's contingent of athletes traveling to state.
Lincoln-Way West had a pair of runner-ups that qualified in Payton Geigner (160) and Javen Estrada (138), while Joliet West's qualifier was Jeremy Pullen who was third at 160.
Hinsdale Central Class 3A Sectional
Bolingbrook advances four wrestlers to the state tournament at the Hinsdale event.
Runner-up efforts were turned in by Jack McDermott (132) and Luis Bazan (120), while Joe McDermott (113) and Cameron Hargrove (145) each placed third at their respective divisions.
Rochelle Class 2A Sectional
Joliet Catholic turned in a fine performance at the Rochelle Sectional as seven Hilltoppers will be making the trip to state including two sectional champions.
Dean Hamiti Jr. continued his dominant season at 152 pounds as he stormed through three matches winning by technical fall, pin and major decision. Terrance Snapp also won the 160-pound title winning an 8-3 decision in the final to claim the crown.
Runner-up efforts that led to qualifications came from Gylon Sims at 106 and Mason Alessio at 120.
Other JCA qualifiers were Shay Korhorn (4th at 113), Jack Finnegan (3rd at 138) and Owen Gerdes (3rd at 170).
Robby Bates also qualified for Morris winning the 195 championship. Bates recorded two pins and a major decision on his way to the title.
Chicago Bowen Class 1A Sectional
Coal City was a dominant force at the Class 1A event, qualifying 11 of its 12 individuals. Coach Mark Masters' Coalers won five titles and also claimed four second-place finishes to go along with one third place and one fourth place showing.
Winning titles for Coal City were Lane Kutemeier (132), David Papach (160), Ashton Harvey (170), Daniel Jezik (195) and Gage Leake (220).
In title matches, Kutemeier beat Peotone's Kevin Hogan 6-3, Papach won by injury default, Harvey won a 16-5 over Hope's Macrae Wilson, Jezik was a 20-9 winner over Reed-Custer's Kody Marschner and Leake claimed a 9-7 win over IC Catholic's Jadon Mims.
Placing second were Evan Rivera (106), Zach Finch (126), Connor Huston (138) and Gabe Ludes (145) while Logan Miller (285) was third and Mataeo Blessing (113) was fourth.
Reed-Custer's Adell Gamboa defeated Coal City's Huston 12-7 to win the 138 title. Placing second for the Comets were Ryan Tribble (113) and Kody Marschner (195) while Bobby Moorman (220) took third and Bobby Mann (120) and Noah Curl (182) were fourth.
Paul Keane (120) won 5-2 over McNamara's Blaine Christie to lead Peotone. Taking second were Kevin Hogan (132) while Marco Spinazzola (126) and Logan Hartnett (195) were third.
And for Wilmington, Jack Narine (27-9) finished third while Nick Gornick (220) was fourth.
Olympia Class 1A Sectional
Dwight advanced a quartet of wrestlers to the state meet, keyed by a title winning effort for Daniel Guttierez at 145.
Cade Enerson was the runner-up in the 160 field as was Sam Edwards at 195.
Dillon Sarff also qualified for state by finishing third at 126.
Oregon Class 1A Sectional
Gavin Mason in the 285 division was the lone Seneca wrestler to advance out of a difficult sectional.
