An arrest warrant has been issued for a Joliet man charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of three minors, according to court records.
On July 24, Judge Fred Harvey signed a warrant for the arrest of Victor M. Tapia-Galicia, 51, of the first block East Zarley Boulevard, on 12 counts of a predatory criminal sexual assault charge, court records show.
The alleged offenses took place over the course of six years, according to a criminal complaint filed against Tapia-Galicia, who was investigated by the Joliet Police Department.
The criminal complaint alleged Galicia sexually assaulted three minors who were under the age of 13 at the time of the offenses.
The warrant for Tapia-Galicia’s arrest carries a $300,000 bond. He will need to post $30,000 for his release from the Will County jail upon apprehension.
The warrant said Tapia-Galicia’s height is 5-foot-5, his weight is 150 pounds, and he has brown hair and brown eyes.
The charge of predatory criminal sexual assault is a class X felony that is punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison.
On Feb. 7, 2012, Tapia-Galicia was charged with obstructing identification in Joliet, according to court records. He entered a plea of guilty to the charge on April 5.
He was sentenced to a year of conditional discharge, court records show.
