Will County reports 106 new cases, three more deaths

The increase in COVID-19 cases appears to have continued Wednesday as local health officials announced 106 new cases and three more deaths in Will County.

Wednesday was the second day in the last week when the Will County Health Department reported a single-day case increase of more than 100.

Health officials reported 122 new cases in Will County on July 30.

The three additional deaths the department announced Wednesday included a man in his 50s, a man in his 80s and a man in his 90s. In total, 343 people in Will County have died because of COVID-19, according to the county health department.

Officials have recently urged more caution among the public as cases have increased throughout Illinois.
